Typhoon Race 2013 in Hong Kong

This year, the most important F3F event in Asia is Typhoon Race 2013 in Hong Kong and it's also part of F3F World Cup 2013. The competition was held in Octbor 18 to 20, although the wind condition was poor we still had 4 rounds. This was the first time there were European pilots join Asia F3F event and had fun with us. Thanks to my Hong Kong friends to held the good competition.

鐵鉆山 is located in west of Taiwan near the sea, in summer the south-west wind is strong and constant  with a lot of damn good thermal. Sometimes the plane fly like a crazy dog, keep running and running. The speed is perfect.

F3F Timer

I have plan to build an F3F timer for a long time, finally I build one :)
The heart of F3F timer is an 8051 series CPU, handling LCD display, buttons and F3F state machine.
The peculiar function of the F3F timer is speech sound. Report time and result by voice speech.

Today we finally have a F3F competition in 北風場. From last year we were fail to race here due to fog or rain. This time it's sunny day with strong wind (12 ~ 20 m/s). We totally had 16 rounds whole day. Many pilots did several sub 40. A happy day.

F3F 2013 first league in 後龍. The wind condition was not stable and a little rain.

Finally I got third place of the competition, it was an happy day.
